Myron Lewis and James Kirkendoll are the newest Edmonton Eskimos.

The club announced on Monday that it has signed Lewis, a six-foot-two, 203-pound, 27-year-old defensive back, along with Kirkendoll, a 24-year-old, five-foot-10, 186-pound wide receiver.

Lewis spent three years at Vanderbilt (the same school as Esks linebacker Eric Samuels), where he had 166 tackles, 10 interceptions and 35 pass breakups. He was an all-SEC second-team selection in 2009 before going 67th overall in the 2010 NFL draft to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent three seasons with the Bucs, playing in 28 games and getting one start. He was released by Tampa on Aug. 8, 2013 and was briefly picked up by the Detroit Lions before falling back into free agency on Aug. 25.

At the University of Texas, Kirkendoll started 28 of 43 games over a four-year career that saw him make 121 catches for 1,389 yards and nie touchdowns. He spent the 2011 season on the Tennessee Titans practice roster.

With the signings, the Eskimos released receiver Keith Godding, who spent just about a month on the team’s practice roster to close out the 2013 season.
