The Edmonton Eskimos have added a pair of Canadian players to their roster, with one at a very important position.

The team signed offensive lineman Adam Baboulas and linebacker Curtis Dublanko on Monday. Both were 2010 CFL Draft picks, with Baboulas going 41st overall (sixth-round) to the B.C. Lions. Baboulas, 26, spent three season with the Lions. At six-foot-four and 300 pounds, Baboulas played some centre for the Lions, before breaking his leg in training camp last season. He could be a replacement at that position for Alexander Krausnick, who was taken in the CFL expansion draft in December by the Ottawa RedBlacks.

Dublanklo, 25, was a second-round pick (15th overall) by the Montreal Alouettes. The six-foot, 235-pounder from Thorsby, Alberta had six special teams tackles with the Alouettes over the last two seasons.

The transactions mark the start of what should be a productive week for the team. The Eskimos are expected to announce head coach Chris Jones’ coaching staff this week.
